Hi, I have a bit of a problem/worry...and need suggestions or answers soon. Since it was my mother's birthday...my present was to let her stock my 20 gallon tank with small cichlids. She came out of the pet store with two Kribensis and two black convicts :unsure: ...I didn't know what they were till I put them into my tank (She said they where small africans)....what should I do? Will they kill eachother or get along? I can't return them either. >< :banghead:

surprise you mom with another tank,preferably a 20 long.:)
that tank is too small for 2 kribs and 2 cons.

I know...I'm starting out a 20 gallon for small fish till they grow. I'm getting a much much bigger tank.

i would take back the convicts, and have a bad ass kribensis setup. get some cool plants, and some driftwood, and some otocinlus cats, maybe some kuhli loaches. the kribs will thrive and breed in the 20 :)

I guess I can go with that...IF...I can return them.

is it the stores return policy you are worried about or are you worried your mom won't want to return them?the store may or may not give you your money back but they should at least give you store credit.

seems weird to me that a store wouldn't take back a fish, if theres nothing wrong with it. even if it's just for credit, you could get some food or plants for them.

Tomorrow I'll try to return them or trade them in for more Kribs. My mom is unsure if the petstore policy allows returned fish...they allow dead fish, thats all I know.

If all fails...I have two small Convicts if anyone wants them.
