Im no expert but...looking at my reference material I will take a few "educated guesses"...

#1 I have no idea. I couldnt even find this one.

#2 Looks like Micro Sword. Not sure what the latin name is though.

#3 Appears to be Cabomba Aquatica but there are several such simular plants. But judging from the pick this is the variety I think you may have.

#4 Looks as though its Hemianthus Micranthemoides.

thanks Ritsuko, i thought #2 looked like microsword but wasn't sure. i think you may be right about #4 but #3 and #1 are still puzzling me. thanks again for the help.:)

#1 looks like sword grass. And the reason why both of you couldnt find it in any reference material is that it is a non aquatic. It will last a few weeks or maybe push a couple of months.

cich1 - May 16, 2005 12:55 AM (GMT)
thanks miagi, so would it do any better in say a terrarium or turtle tank with partial water(submerged roots) or is it all together non aquatic? what about #3, do you have any insight as to what it is?

mr_miagi32 - May 16, 2005 01:16 AM (GMT)
Na, sorry cich, i have no clue about #3. There are a few similar looking species that i know of, but wouldnt be able to tell u the species and genus names. Almost like cabomba if my mind serves me correctly.
But heres a look alike.... http://www.plantgeek.net/plant-170.htm

Ill do a little digging aroiund for u and see if i cant find any info on #1. Mine did well, growing oout, sending out runners, but then just dis-intergrated in a week or two about a month and a half later! So never bought it again.

I cant find taht non aquatic species on plantgeek.com but im pretty sure it is a non aquatic. here is the site i like to use...

cich1 - May 16, 2005 05:22 PM (GMT)

cich1 - May 17, 2005 06:37 AM (GMT)
hey miagi, i have been looking at some of the info on plantgeek, and i was thinking that #1 looks kinda like dwarf hairgrass what do you think?

mr_miagi32 - May 17, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)

cich1 - May 17, 2005 06:45 AM (GMT)

BettaMomma - July 22, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
Here's what I'm pretty sure they are:

#1 is dwarf hairgrass
#2 is microsword or copragrass
#3 is frill (I can't find squat about it on the web, but I have had some in my tanks before, and that's it)
#4 is moneywort (I could be way wrong on this but that's what my moneywort looks like)
