i have a 20gal mata frame that houses 2 goldfish and a few guppies and i want to convert it to a salt water tank and get rid of the gold fish and feed the guppies to my Piranha. what will i need to make the tank salt and keep in mind this will be my fisrt salt tank.

Might pay to go to the salty's section and quiz them about it, probably should have a beginners section within the salty's section :unsure:

Ok, First you will need a Protein Skimmer (Skims the water and takes out the proteins and crap in the water), Lighting (depends if you want to keep corals or not), filter...cannister is ok for a small tank (new filter media, i got coral sand, sponge, sea chem Matrix, and some other stuff), a power head for circulation in the water, coral sand or marble sand, liverock (the rock stucture in a reef tank and used to start your cycling in your tank). I think thats all.
