Title: The blue terror
Description: But somehow remains one of my favorites

The blue terror, aka Kingsizei Likoma. :fhalert:
A poor quality video I took with my old camera awhile back. He is nearly as territorial as my old Kenyi male "Brute". He rules half of my 75 gallon which is stocked pretty heavily just because of him.
http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=kingsizeiTough as nails, and one of the spunkiest fish I've kept. Lives up to its name Kingsize! I would not be surprised if it decided to go up aginst a large predator in the wild.
"Whachoo lookin' at suka foo, ya put that finger in here." :slap:

Its amusing watching the little guys I've raised from him and his girls, even at around a inch they have the spunk and color of their dad.

Check out the choppers on him.

I am absolutely struck by the similarity in appearance of this species to C. afra "white top" variety...The real difference seems to be in the teeth though, as the afra have a more varied bite pattern, and I believe different shaped teeth...

I agree, they are very similar. It appears Ps. Kingsizei has been reclassified as Cynotilapia Pulpican? Their teeth do look quite different from most Afra. The classifying games are quite confusing.

So...maybe we have been keeping the same fish?

Or different location varients maybe? There is a new type of Kingsizei from Mara point now also available. One of the IAA guys picked some up, from cichlidlovers maybe.

Mine was sold to me as Cynotilapia afra "white top".....no location given....So if P. kingsizei is no longer a valid name then I'm assuming that Cynotilapia pulpican is the new name, so does that mean my fish is actually C. pulpican as well? It sure seems possible...

Not really sure, might be a question to ask Mr. Konings. :)

After watching that video, I want to throw my albino zebra in against him in one on one battle. Nasty little Africans! gotta love em though. You say he owns half of your 75 gallon. Im in the same situation man. :starwars:

Lately my Sand Senga have been giving him alittle competition, he is stubborn though. :slap:
