Hi there peoples. I recently put 2 kribs in my tank and one of them has what i believe are the first signs of white spot ( scratching itself on the gravel and other hard objects. :o
Would it me a good move to treat the tank for white spot imediatly :starwars: or wait until im sure it is white spot? I dont have a quarantine tank but im careful when introducing new fish as to not ad any of the lfs water.
None of the other tankmates are showing any symptons but i really want to treat this properly and triumph over the little buggers, so if anyone can help please dont hesitate.
Turn up the temp to about 27c that should do the trick.
Over 70% of the time disease and parasites are carried by the host, NOT the water they come in. Although prohibiting bag water entering the tanks water is an extra precaution you can take. But its most likely off your fish.
Their ammune systems are low, thats why they are starting to show signs of whitespot after being introduced. Stress no dought.
Id treat now, before it jumps and spreads. Feed normally, keep water qaulity as high as possible during treatment and follow the instructuions for dosing on the bottle. And continue treatment for the recomended time. It should say.
Make sure to keep oxygen levels HIGH if your gonna raise temps above 28C to beat whitespot too. Warm water holds less oxygen.
I would definately start treating ASAP. The quicker you catch it the better your chances at clearing it up 100% without losses.
Like mr.miagi said, keep your water pristine, increase temp and start treating!
