I'ts my day off of work, and I stayed up late on here last night :P so I took a nap with the boyfriend *he works 3rd shift, so he's actually going to bed...I nap :)* and I woke up and came out here to check my email...look over at Stefano's tank and WOW a lil' pudgy bubblenest! His is a lot thicker than Fabio's was *and since Fabio has been fighting fin rot, highly doubt he cares to bubblenest, poor baby* but I would've never thought Stefano would bubblenest :o All I did last night was feed everyone peas, especially to him and Fabio.
Stefano is working on it perodically as I type. It's so neat! :wub: :dancer:

Now I dont know much about betas, do the males build the bubble nest and then get the female involved, or how does it go.

TacoFrano-Yes, it was definatly a suprise. :D I'd never seen a guy work on a nest before, and I laid down from 7 til about 10....3 hrs gave me that pile of bubbly! :wub:

BettaMomma-I guess so! Or else...he may like Fabio a bit...they were gazing in the one pic I had posted last night...lol! I think he's just very happy...I'll have to break out the peas more often :dancer:

photorah-as TacoFrano said, males make the nest to keep the female's eggs in after they spawn. But...I'm not going to be breeding my boys and girls for obvious reasons ;)

TacoFrano- It was fun :) I was sad to leave and come out to the 'homestead' but on my day off, I had to watch some tv! I'd look right at him, he'd go off and swim into his cave, etc. Goofy bugger...then I'd start typing on here and he'd go back over and blow some bubbles. ^_^ sigh! Someone's a happy boy!

That's great! Up until I got my betta from Yeevia, all my boys made very thin nests that were really large. But this one makes a really thick one like that.

I notice when I wake up sometimes, their nests are completely destroyed, and they start working on a different one in a spot 3 inches away :lol:

Seahorse-Fabio made good diamater bubblenests, this is by far the thickest one I've seen! I can't wait to get to the apartment after chores, hopefully it will be impressive and worthy of another picture :D
I'd love to get a betta or 2 or so from Yeevia, but I can't help but worry something bad would happen to it with my care...like fin rot or something. Fabio got fin rot within a week or so of living with me. :S I have bad luck sometimes :P and it sucks! I try very hard to be a good betta mum and sometimes it blows up in my face. :P This lil' guy gives me a smidgen of hope that maybe I am. ^_^

Thanks :) I have not taken any more pictures, as it was about the same, just a little higher. It's up to the plastic part of the outside of the tank...you can see it a tiny bit though the plastic ^.^, I'd say a inch or inch and a half high, about an inch back into the tank and I'd say about 2 inches wide now. :wub: He has all day to add on until I get back from work *if very busy* or chores*of not busy at work* tonight ;) Waterchange night :P

i am not sure did you all even try to scope out the bubbles and then after changing the water tank, you put back the bubbles. hahaha. I did and not worth. LOL

yeeviabettas-No, I did not try to save it :) Granted the idea was not far from my head tho. ^_^ I did play w/ the bubbles a little...I couldn't help myself, I wanted to feel if they were sticky or something, as to be put together and stay in a cute lil' nest like that :wub:

eudielynn-Oh I hated doing the waterchange :P I fed some pea this morning, in hopes I might pop another nest out of him... :lol:
