I've seen people call fish "Rays" or a 16 ray tail or whatever.

Im confused by that.. what exactly do you guys mean by rays?

Is it the amount of tips a CT has or something?

Ok, go find a betta (shouldn't be too hard). Look at his tail real close. The little bone-like lines that go from his body to the tips of his tail. Unconfused now?
