Title: DIY bowl/vase lid
Description: really cheap
Karah's_Mommy - July 18, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
I got this idea from a thread a few weeks ago about cheap lids for betta bowls/vases. Altogether I might have spent $4 and I have enough supplies to make about 10 lids. I don't have any bettas in bowls or vases, so I used a flower vase I had hanging around as a prop. I just whipped this up quickly, and if I put more time into it, it would probably look a lot better. Also, I only used one color, it could be done in any number of colors. Lemme know what you think please !

And the vase with my pride and joy, Miss Karah:
(she just had to get in the picture, clothed or not)

That is a great idea if someone wants to make a lid. You can do many thing like decorating them. You can using glue gun to attack stuff even you can put ribbon, dryflower, beads and so so so. You also can chance the shape to cone. So many possibilities. Keep it up and show us more later. :) There is a cute little darling there. What is the matter with his eyes? :)

She has a hemangioma, which is a strawberry birthmark, and in a really bad spot. She's had 2 surgeries already, the first at 3 mos and the second at 10 mos. We've been to countless doctors and specialists. Since the surgeries didn't work, we're going to wait it out for the next year or so and go from there. We're trying to avoid more surgeries as they can cause scarring and further damage when there's a possibility that it could regress on it's own. I definately want it gone before she starts school though, I hear and see what people say now, and it's hard enough when she doesn't understand, I can't imagine what it's going to be like when she does understand it. :( Some people can be so ignorant and cruel. :(

Hmm - that's a great idea, one I had not thought of before. I might start packin one in my purse for times when I run into trouble at WalMart.
KM - I think they're awesome. I'd end up stitching thru the whole dang thing - and that would become my latest hobby. I'd spend all my spare moments stitching. FUN!! lol
I think your daughter is a little gem. Just plain beautiful.
Someday you must tell her you posted a picture of her in her skivvies on the internet. She'll love you for it.

It's a darn shame that some people are just plain mean. I don't really know what it would be like...the only time I've been involved is when people would pick on my cousin because of his autism. They'd call him stupid, etc. and really upset him, tho he was lucky and would 'forget' stuff that happened about a half-hr. later or so. He went to public school, my Jr. and Senior years I have him a ride home from school *lived down the hill from me*
Your daughter looks like a lil' peach ^_^ To imagen running around half-naked...*sigh* LOL. At least she has a little coverage. My mum took a pic once of me in the bathtub, *after the cat we had fell in* and I was totally nekked. :jaw: I have no idea where that picture is anymore, hope I never see it again! :P

I just *love* naked baby pictures - had professional ones done of my 2nd daughter - very tasteful, but showed *every* little fat roll! :ner:
My oldest daughter had a hemangioma on her side, about the size of my hand, and puffed out about an inch and a half. It did fade, and by the time she started Kindergarten it was almost gone. Now that she's entering first grade you can hardly tell it was there. *Freaked* my mother out the first time she had to change her diaper when I wasn't there... she thought she had burned her on the oven or something... ... called me in a total panic apologizing!
Miss Karah's such a cutie pie, with those bright blue eyes! Here's hoping any future surgeries either go well, or that they are completely unnecessary!
And *just to stay on topic*, nice job with the lid! I've been using plain plastic canvis on my little isolation chambers, and they don't look nearly as nice as yours!

Those covers are great! Oh man... I could go totally nuts with that, cause I bead. So many ideas now... cause plastic canvas is so cheap... and I have lots of beads and yarn and things... Oooooh... pretty. Speaking of that, I need to make BM something like she asked me to... hahaha.
My little cousin, Myra, had a hemangioma on her lip. It was there for about 3 years (cause they didn't want to do surgery right away and it can go away by itself as you know) until I believe they had it removed.
She is SUCH a cutie. And yes, I'm sure she'll love the half-naked pic of her in about 10 years...

First, let me say that the lids is way cool, and very creative. I make gel candles now, and stiching could be my next hobby! Keep up the pics. I wanna see how they turn out for ya. Second, your litte girls is sooooo adorable. It is nice to see my 2 aren't the only one's runnig around in diapers. It is impossible to get them in pics with clothes anymore. As for the people who say things about a little child, Fu*k em. They are just ignorant. Obviously they have a lot of insecurities. That's why they would comment about a baby! My girls have mosquito bites on their faces that became infected (Don't know how) and when we were at the supermarket today, some people were staring and whispering! Fortunately they are only 20 months old, so they have no clue what is going on! I, on the other hand wanted to say somethng to each of them. I am used to stares, because they are twins, and lots of people talk to me about them, but it really pissed me off today that anyone would have the nerve to comment on them in a negative way. don't let it get to ya! I hope she will not need surgery and it will dissapear on its own, but if she does need the surgery, I will say a prayer for her.
