Can all Gouramis be keept togeather in the same tank? like do they get along or hate each other?

you do realise in asking that you are referring to the small peas sized sparkling gourami to the giant ospheremus gourami? just thought id poiint that out lol the answer is no way jose

It really depends which ones we are talking about and what size tank. Like Oddball pointed out, Giant Gouramis and Sparkling Gouramis wouldn't work. And Gold Gourami, Three-Spot Gouramis, Opaline Gouramies (all the same species) sometimes won't work out together, because the males can be aggressive with each other.

Did you have a specific few in mind? :)

Dwarf ones, can they all be tank mates as well as the gold ones?

Oddball - July 22, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)
Not really, fraid they are waaaaay to small and if you get a nasty tri. leeri hell rip em to bits

Well, in my experience, Dwarfs can usually be kept together, provided it's a big enough tank and there are some hiding places, like rocks, wood, plants etc. However, I wouldn't keep more then 2 in the same tank. A Gold could be kept with a Dwarf....however, it will all depend on how aggressive that certain Gold is. I personally wouldn't risk it.

We are talking about Gold Gouramis - Trichogaster trichopterus, right? I'm just a little confused, because Oddball said Trichogaster leeri which is the Pearl Gourami....
