I don't have a whole lot of info for you - but in the pond we have several big ghost koi. Here are some pics of them:

They're about a foot long and I know they've been in that pond for at least 5 years because they were in it when we moved in during the summer of '00.

Like I said, that probably didn't help you at all but that's all I got for ya. :)

Oh, and we feed all the fish in our pond white, brown or whatever color bread we have left over. They devour it like crazy and they all seem to get along just fine.

the growth rate of kio, of any fish for that matter, depends on several factors
temperature, amount of food, availablity of food and space.

koi have the potential to reach 24", yes that's 2 foot
they should live for around 50 years but there are reports
of some in Japan being over 100 years old.

Damian, Ive kept Kois before...bought 8 of them @ 10cm...after 12 years they are about 40cm. But they got too large for the tank so we gave them to a mate to put in his pond.

I just feed them Hikari Koi pellets. Seems quite good with them.

Must agree with mango4jade, plus they love earthworms, I've also kept them in a 110g, but decided when they got +/- 8" to put them in a friends pond, that was about 10mths ago and now there well over 12".
