Hi guys.
Looking for suggestions on how to organize the betta area.
Do you like it the way it is - i.e. tail types separated out, general betta discussion, etc?
Any changes you'd like to see?

How are the pinned topics?
Any that should go? Any that should be added?

I think the seperating tail types is alright....

Would anyone have any objections to us consolidating lots of the reference threads above into one "resources" section? That way the pinned topics list won't be quite so long... but everything will still be available up there....

Honestly? way too many pinnned topics in here. its like the pinned topics are more than the regular ones. some organization up there would be cool, I think. as far as the other fin forums, a double tail one would be good. otherwise they're fine. how about an emergency ER one, where if you have an emergency problem you'll post it in there for the fastest results?

i dunno, just thinking.

I think there are too many too.
I think we'll collect some of them and put them together - like the resources ones, like the hmm... diseases ones, the blackworms ones... etc (can't think of others off the top of my head just now) but the ones that are considered "resources" will probably get lumped together.

How about this....

How about we create one main pinned topic that has all the resource topics linked from it, like just plain old text links. That main topic will then be locked so no one can reply to it so it doesn't get HUGE.

Hello clutter, this forum is a bit of a mess. It kind of turns me off a bit, it is like, over organized!

I like simplicity though.

Some pinned topics and a general area with a breeding sub forum is perfect for me. All these individual folders are just havoc.

There are far too many pinned topics, I can definitely agree with you on that one. There are quite a few that aren't necessary, such as the mod's tables [PM would be a little easier, would it not?], BotM [those can go in the competition folders], and a couple other ones that are pretty unnecessary. I mean, c'mon.. how many of us don't know what tail type our betta is?

Yeah, and new users would be very confused I would think.

Personally I'd like it better if the betta section was just split between general discussion and wild types... maybe with a section for breeding and spawn diaries, even. I'm not too fold of the separate sections for each tail type, personally.

I'd have to agree with Synirr, I find that having the sections split by tail type is rather... um... tail-ist. Plus the "tail" sections don't get a lot of traffic that wouldn't be just as appropriate in the general betta section. It would make more sense to me to divide by species and by topic - with a section for "other than Splendens" wild types, a section for breeding, one for health issues, maybe one for rescues?, one for pictures... It would make it alot easier to find information that way. Just a suggestion - it looks like most people are happy with the way it is, and I seem to keep coming here, too, so...

we really should make a poll for this cause i have gotten lost within the 30 posts. so how bout this ill go make a poll and then if you decide to change the sections then list what sections you want. if you dont then well you dont have to comment back lol
