Title: Seeing a pic of a relative you never knew..

Today, I found an envelope my gandma had left at our house on Easter for my Mom. I didn't really know what was in it, and curiousity made me check.

Inside were a bunch of old photos, some funny, some old...but it was one picture that really threw me off.

There was a picture cut out of the paper of my Grandpa Kenny. He fought in World War II, and the pictures were from 1944, uniform, hat, and a huge smile on his face. I've only ever seen pictures of me and him when he was older, and one shot of him just before I was born. My mom always tells me about him, how he had to work so hard just to make sure his family had food on the table. Or how he went to war to protect them, and ou country. And it made me think:

1. Canadian soldiers are not credited enough for what they did in the war. Thousands of men gave thier lives for other people. My grandpa flew for the RAF, over Europe and Asia.

2. I really do overlook how well I have life. Here I am, planning what equipment I want to buy for my fish tank, when my Grandpa used to work all day just to buy fish to eat. I am now a lot more greatful for what I have. I wont forget his courage, because that is really what gave me the life I have today.

3. We should spend more time with those who are close to us. My Mom always tells me that I was born right befroe Grandpa died, and that I always made him smile. And really, whats more important in life, our dry-cleaning, or having a good time with people we care about?

There's a lot more, but that's all I have for now.

Hope this got ya thinking.
