Title: Tell me about UV sterilizers
Description: ...

I have a small garden pond about 150 or so gallons. I have a sterilizer that is the right size for it that I got when I set the pond up. For a few months there has been no problem with green water so I never put the sterilizer on it. Well after I get back from out of town suddenly I cant even see the bottom anymore.
So I've hooked the UV up but here is what I want to know

Should I run it all the time or just sometimes?
How long should it take to clear the green water?

THANKS !!!

I literally run my uv sterilizer 24/7. But with the green water, try to see if your phosfates are high. Even with a UV and high phosfates...algae will still be there.

I'll ask my mate how to keep ponds clean. His koi ponds are cystal clear!

i believe the only time you turn it off is when the bulb needs changing, im not sure how they work for ponds but my friends dad has one on his salt water tank and he has 4, 4 foot power glos on 15 hours a day and his water is crystal clear
