Title: HELP!! DP EMERGENCY!

Saucy - August 5, 2005 03:22 AM (GMT)
So I went to feed my dwarf puffer, Godzilla, last night for the second time that day and he didn't come out. I just thought he had already gone to sleep and didn't think of it.

I just went to feed him again, and he didn't come out. He ALWAYS comes out for his bloodworms. So I get up on a chair and look into the tank and he is just TINY. His stomach is all pulled in and he looks emaciated. I tried handfeeding him, but I can barely get him to leave his spot laying on the bottom of the tank...

He's currently in a 5-gallon MiniBow with a snail and a 1.5" clown pleco. His temp has been about 80 all summer, because we don't have central air, but it's been just today that I noticed him sick.

Please help... I don't even know if he's going to make it till tomorrow...

I suggest changing the water and checking the params, changing water is usually a good idea for sick fish :)

Well, I changed about 50% of his water at 1.30 am last night... and he perked up. After talking to a good friend of mine who also like oddballs, he said it could be an ammonia spike.

It was good to see him make his way to the front of the tank to greet me this morning... we'll see how he is after work today.

The signs you are describing sound like fish tb or internal parasites, anything prutruding from the anus, is the anus red and inflamed.what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet, can you issolate him.
