alright so i couldn't decide on what fish i will have once my 30 has cycled but i got it. i want about 10 guppies, some sucker fish and some random fish. is this good? also i am getting a lot of flaoting plants what other plants r good? any suggestions would help thanks.

Lots of floating plants will block out the lighting...so mainly you wouldnt have plants at the bottom.

if your egetting floating plants then a few hatchet fish would be good coz the floating plants would stop them from jumping and as mango said if you get floating plants then you dont want any plants at the bottom of the tank

As for plants, some of the crypts do well in low light, and can look really special once established.

get a few harlequins and rummy nose tetras to :)
