Title: Paralyzed??

Saucy - August 24, 2005 03:16 AM (GMT)
Ok, so my stupid water took yet ANOTHER of my fish... (RIP Tyipa), so now Chili has a tank to himself. I added a little more Amquel Plus earlier to bring down the ammonia levels (because obviously it didn't work the first time) and now Chili isn't really moving his left pectorl fin.

I added a filter to his tank to keep the ammonia levels decently, and he doesn't seem to mind. I saw him use his left pectoral when he was swimming to the top for air, but then he just sits there at the bottom only using his right one. I'm so worried I permanently damaged him from the ammonia/Amquel...

Does anyone have advice??

clean the filter?

Like I said, I JUST added the filter.

I'm pretty sure she just added the filter, so it's clean, new etc...

you need to start getting water from my house again.

Is he just not using it at all? Like holding it against his side?
Or does it hang out there still?

I'm not sure it could become paralyzed just from being exposed to ammonia but it's not impossible.

How's he doing now?

He's moving it!!! I came in to look at him and he was ok. I'm thinking he could have hurt himself on the divider or something.

Maybe he just hurt himself trying really hard to flip one of your other fishies off.

Glad to hear he's better :)
