Title: Anyone Does Buisness
Description: With this guy? Come see and tell me.

Anyone does buisness with this website before?
I want a pair of fighters sooooo bad I'd snatch a baby and sell it's soul to the devil. Well, I'd do that anyway, but that's besides the point.
Just so no one freaks out on me (*looks at Bettamomma*) I will never fight them nor sell their offspring as fighters. I want them to improve my lines and fighters have some of the cutest betta faces I've ever seen. I want them soooooooo bad!
http://www.atisonbetta.com/index.aspAlso, I was think of maybe getting a CT or two. So who'shad experance with them?
(ignore all typos, I've very tired)

I want a fighter too - just to have it in my collection. I don't know what I'd do with it once it was here, but I think it would be really cool to have...
There's a guy on the GLBS forum named 'CoconutMan' who recommends Atison, and told me he's the guy to talk to about a fighter. I checked out the fighters on the site and they were pretty cool.
Maybe you could talk to CoconutMan and see what he knows about Atison?
One reservation I had after looking at the site was the shipping cost - he charges $40 to ship two fish. If he could send them directly to you, that might be okay, but I think you STILL have to go through a transhipper once they make the states.
And why does he charge that kind of shipping when the other Thai breeders can get them here for $5?
Anyway, let me know what you find out. Like I said, I'd love to add one to my collection. All personal judgements about fighting fish aside, they're part of the cultural aspect of keeping bettas, part of the history.

:cuss:
hahahah! Just kidding.
I wouldn't actually mind having one either.
Just so I could tell him everyday how lucky he is that he gets to live in the lap of luxury at my house and get fat and live to a ripe old age without any effort on his part.
Good luck in your search, I can't wait to hear if you get some!

I prefer selling them as chimney sweeps :dunno: .
They do look nice, have you tried Aquabid? It would also be interesting to see how much appearence changes on a normal plakat when you condition them lihgt fighters... Hmm.... I might try that when I've got me some baby pk's :hmm:

Actually, I think the fighters are a different kind of fish from the PKs we keep - the fighters are longer-bodied, and have a very different temperament.
You can still condition a PK as a fighter though - or a veil, or a HM for that matter. BUT I think their fighting instinct is different.
Just from what I've read online...

Fighter plakats are awesome, so natural looking etc. but if i remember correctly i think you need to excercise them now and then. not that im saying go fight to the death with 2 fish but i would get 2 pairs or 2 males and let them "excercise" themselves maybe once every month or so. dont bash me for it and i just noticed that justhal simplified what i just spent 5 minutes typing out. oh well lol

Yep yep, plakat fighters are bred to be fighters, which is what gives them their distinctive style and shape, whereas 'normal' plakats are just bred to look pretty :)

justhal, he says the 40 covers everything on the shipping and they are delivered right to my doorstep. So I just pay the 40 and I don't have to worry about the transhipper or anything else.
Not to mention he boasts they're from chamion lines and I wouldn't mind breeding that into my lines. ^^

I know that :) I was just wondering how, say, the appearence of the scales change. Or other benefits it has.

Styx - I wonder how he does that when everyone else use transhippers??? Did you ask him?
Are you going to check it out?
I think it would be really cool to have one...

Not sure where you are located but if your in most countries (USA,Canada, AU, etc) it is illegal to have fish shipped directly to your door without going through that countries Fish & Wildlife inspection. Not only will the seller get in trouble but the buyer as well will face the governments wrath !
Incidentally, if anyone wants to get a "fighter" I can special order them and have them here with my next shipment !

justhal, I just assumed he went through one. I guess I'll ask.
Bluebettausa, how much?

I have heard a lot about Attison and his fighters.... can't say I have ever heard anything good about his fighters... hm's are ok though. Check out his guest book. Are you looking for a fighter specifically for that reason?? Or are you just looking for a plakat (short fin) in general?
Domestic US: Betty Splendens has some plakats.... she has very good quality bettas and also great customer interaction... she breeds for quality
From Thailand.... Watt & Duen have amazing bettas (omg especially halfmoons... they NEVER fail to impress... and customer service is above & beyond) Wassan is another. Wassan has VERY nice fighters.... no screwing around.... he is SERIOUS about them. Also seriously works with his fighters... & plakats.
Biggest thing.... customer interaction is everything. It definately pays to do your research and notice how they interact with their buyers.
All imported fish are through a transhipper. Yes, they are delivered to your doorstep... but they make a pit stop with a transhipper to be cleared and then are mailed to you.
Most Fighters are not rebagged. They are usually shipped in a strong almond tea and the transhipper is told specifically not to do anything to them except repack and ship asap.
Some transhippers do not rebag. If importing ... you really should know how the transhipper is treating the fish. The halfmoons and non fighters are best off being unbagged... fed... fasted again... rebagged and sent off. The water quality is MUCH better then... they have a bit of time to recoup... makes for much healthier arrivals.
A good transhipper will also be on the look out for ill fish.... and will treat them. They also keep in contact with you... many long finned bettas are prone to blowing their tail or biting them. (Yes... they turn right around and chomp their own tail... not hard to do either in a small bag.)

I am looking for a fighter only, I have lots of PKs, but I want a fighter.
Thanks for the info.
