Well I found out yesterday that 3 of my bettas had velvet while I was cleaning their container. Just 2 minutes ago I put all 3 bettas in a seperate container in a 10 gallon tank filled 1/3 the way with a heater. They each are being treated with malacite green. I covered the entire tank (with a bit of air space) so that the heat wouldn't escape that much (no adjustable heater) and so that the bettas wouldn't be stress out too much. I'm crossing my fingers since these three are my favorites.
Oooh, that sucks.
How'd they get it?
i will add some IAL and put air bubbles to cycle the water in the tank.:)
I always have good luck if I using air bubbles or filter for the hospital tank too. :)
Yeah I'm gonna go put the airstones in right now. The theory of the velvet is probably in the 5 gallon tank (I don't know why either).
Keep the lighting to a minimum too.... indirect is best. Velvet has this funky photosynthesis thing going on for it too.
