I've heard bad stuff will happen, but what exsactly? Does it always happen? Is it absolutely forbidden?

Well.... that depends on the dt's you are spawning. In general... you really have to keep a close eye on them for any kind of deformities before you even consider spawning them. Make sure they are not stubby (shortened body size)... have good cofirmation (no crooked spines... no humpbacks.. no dent behind the head... etc. etc.)
There is a higher percentage of culls in a dt x dt cross... there is more expectations...specifically for even lobes. I have heard there are a few more issues when inline breeding dt's.... but I do not have 1st hand experience with that.
Give it a shot... see how it goes. If they throw a lot with deformities.. then just cull.

Yeah, because I've just heard, "BAD STUFF" but some people think ugly fins are BAD STUFF. When those can be sold to petstores if nothing else.
If no one says otherwise, I might just try it and we'll see what happens. Both my DTs are quite lovely and the female is flawless.

Go for it!! The "bad stuff" they were referring to is physical deformities... regardless of lobes... if they have a bad spine or deformity... they should not be bred.
If the 2 you have are clean... then give it a go!! You won't know what they will throw till ya give it a try. You could have a great batch of fry. If by chance you get more culls than expected... you will know where they stand as breeders.... or maybe you will alter the breeding plans.
If you don't try it.... it sounds like later it will drive ya nuts doing the "what if I had only tried..." game.

I know! ^^ I'm going to try it! Maybe durring the winter it will be my only project. I'll report back on here when I decide to do it and what happens. I'm going to check over my DT males to make sure they're bodies are in great condition. If not, I'll find another DT male that is.
