He looks pretty good, Jason! and you're right - the third pic is the most accurate of his color.

When he flares he's at least SD - maybe a full HM. He's a pretty big guy though! more body than fins.

Well, Timmy's having a little swim bladder issue, but he's hanging in there. Jason, post pics of him!! You have my camera! Timmy's fins are absolutely gigantic, but he's only a MAX of 2" long including his tail. I think it's even less than that. He's gorgeous. So his tail... if you were to stretch it out, it would probably stretch to his nose on both sides. It's THAT big...

Hal - he sure does love those bloodworms!! He went right for em right away. :) Don't worry, he's gettin' some colloidal and hopefully he'll pull out of it quick. My mom and dad love him (cause he's on the counter in the kitchen where they see him all the time).

Oh, don't work too hard to heal the swim bladder - that's how he is. He really can't swim much lower than a couple inches, and he's pretty much always at the top of the water. That's probably a big part of the reason he's so small - besides the obvious 'runt-ism,' he can't really get to the bottom to eat falling food.

And what a shame too. He's such a nice color - I love the lavender wash over the lower part of him - and has fins with rays on top of rays. So when you see the siblings on bettysplendens.com with the anomolies we think are so beautiful, remember there's the flip side when it all goes wrong...

Thanks for giving Timmy a home. I truthfully didn't know if he'd make it alive! But this little guy has been a fighter all the way, and I figured it was worth risking the trip for him to be able to live his life out loved and cared for - however long or short that life may be.

Just a small update, Rocko has made a bubble nest :)

That might not be bad - he's actually from a blue line. Just because he's a little funky doesn't mean all his babies would be...

I thought of breeding him myself - he's got a nice big body and could handle one of the big girls. AND he's unusually colored - I don't think I've seen many with gray fins and a turquoise body.


Maybe you should consider it, Jason...
