this has been developing for a few days now and I've been treating with silver and maracyn . Its getting worse and she hasnt eaten in days. I seperated all of my females into seperate bowls when I noticed it and no one else has been affected at all.
Today she cant swim properly and is resting on a plant near the top so she can breathe.
The spot looks like a pimple that has come to a white head and I'm not exactly sure what it is.
So I'm going out for about an hour and if she is still alive when I get back I am strongly considering putting her down with some clove oil.
Am I acting rashly here or what
Oh and does anything know what it is in case it happens to any of the others.
Not having a good time here lately :dunno:
Well she died on her own. Upon closer inspection I think it was TB. Other girls are looking fine but I'm thinking I should do a round of antibiotic just in case.
:rip:
Hi -
Sorry to hear she died :(
Did she have other symptoms that is making you think it's tb?
Someone posted recently about a similar spot on a betta recently - and someone else knew what it was. It had a name - but I for the life of me can not recall where I saw it from.
I will see if I can find it somewhere for you.
Well here is how it went:
A small patch on the side of her head and behind her eye bulged out but she continued to swim and eat normally... so I added some salt and colloidal silver.
Then at times it seemed to be bloody but still did not change her behavior but I started maracyn treatment.
2 days ago it formed a greyish necrotic looking cyst and this morning she couldnt swim properly. She died before I could put her down ... I could tell she was about to go and didnt want it to drag on too long.
