My digital camera is gone, my sister took it to college. But just thought I'd update for all of you guys who remember my horrible battle with fin rot in my 30 gallon tank that caused me to lose Merlin, Sky, and make Jenga near death. For those who don't remember, Jenga's dorsal fin COMPLETELY fell off, like, to the point where you could see spine. His anal fin, ventral fins and caudal fins were well on their way to being halfway gone. Well, Jenga was the only one to respond to treatment, and 1000 water changes, lots of prayer, RidIch, fungus cure, maracyn 2, salt and EVEN MORE clean water, and about 3 hours a day sitting next to him, not to mention hand feeding him when he was too weak to swim, finally payed off. He is back to normal, all of his fins have 80% grown back, (his dorsal grew back blue and red, it was red before...) and he is swimming around and eating on his own again, finally.
just thought everyone would like a success story. Cases like this is why I keep fish.
Awww... you go girl!! He held in there for you. :)
Thanks saucy. He just gets better every day.
I'm glad to finally see a success story like this. I should have given Bo to you... hah. I think he just knew you needed him to hang on for you. :) Go Jenga and Orky!
awah thats wonderful to hear!! see it all paid off and arnt you a prowed mommy?! :)
Thx guys, I am. My bird was fluttering around my room today (her wings are clipped but they need to be re done, and she fluttered off my hand) and landed on Jenga's tank. Jenga got really excited and my bird was intently watching him. Jenga has a friend.
