Title: Almost lost Skittles
Description: literally.

Ok so tonight i was scurrying to fit in some last minute WC's. The water wasn't QUITE the same temp so i floated Skittle's cup in the bowl and carried it over to his shelf. Then I slipped and WHAM. The one gallon glass bowl came crashing to the floor, sending water, marbles, a silk plant, and to my dismay, Skittles and the cup flying. I sat in shock for a second then raced to action. Skittles was nowhere to be found. The bowl wasn't broken, and still had about an inch of water in it. I uprighted the bowl, and finally found skittles flopping on the floor all the way across the room. Damn that fish moved FAST. He was covered in hair and god knows what on the carpet. I grabbed him and plunked him into the bowl, while i mopped up some of the water and collected the marbles. So most of the water is out of the carpet, just a little damp still. I put Skittles back into the cup and did another water change, adding extra stress coat and some salt. He appears to be ok, I fed him an extra pellet out of guilt. What else should I do, if anything?
Let this be a lesson. NEVER put a betta in a bowl before you permanently set it down.

GOD YES! Freaking Lucy has jumped out of the tank or attempted to about 4372189 times now! Don't worry, he'll be fine. The first time, I didn't even notice Lucy on the floor at first, then I couldn't get her up.

Only one of my betta kids have jumped out of their home...Fatima. First time scared the 'you know what' out of me. I was feeding everyone some pea, and her chunk was stuck on my thumb. I had tried to dip it in though the feeding hole, but it didn't work, so I took it out to change it to my finger and 'wooosh' out of the hole she flew O.o Bill was with me too, couldn't believe she did that :P
Second time was when I was using a cup instead of her container for the water changes....not sure when if right before or after I put the lid on, but she managed to jump out. I didn't notice she was out of the cup until I went to feed her a sympathy pellet...she was on my plastic bag that had all my fish meds in it, which was in my fish 'junk' box. I wouldn't have known she was there except she rustled the bag a little. I feared the worst...but she's perfectly fine now. :)
Possibly a little more crazy than she was before....but overall she's ok

Batista and Hunter have both taken dives when I was doing water changes. Both seemed a little stunned and shaken at first, but were fine once the shock wore off. As long as they don't get injured from the initial fall, they are usually none the worse for wear.

Mom's betta, Pish(don't laugh she named him, not me) hit the floor from about chest level the other day when I did his water change. Scared the crap out of me  , I was picking him up out of the ice cream bucket to put him back into the jar and he jumped out of my hand. He wasn't hurt but boy was he pissed at me  . Usually he will come to the side of the jar to get my attention, I touch the jar and he flairs, well he just ignored me all day, he didn't even show any interest in the extra pellet I gave him as an apology, if I touched the jar he swam the other direction :pft:
The next day he was back to normal.
And they say that a fish only has a 3 second memory, yeah right :pft:
