Title: My new girls are here!!
Description: Booker's in love!

eudielynn - September 15, 2005 11:54 AM (GMT)
Cindy brought the new girls in this morning. One is dark blue and the other looks to be cambodian, can't see them very well yet because they are in a frosted tupperware pitcher and I can only take the top off and look down. The cambodian is the one who was so stressed. She did eat as soon as I dropped a pellet in with them this morning, and Cindy said she had eaten one last night, so she is starting to come around already.

I have Booker and Edge's tanks next to each other and I sat the girls pitcher down in front of them for a few minutes. Booker started flaring and strutting and really showing off as soon as he saw them. I've left them where he can see them and he'd definately in love. I'll have to move them in a little while so he doesn't stress out. I think Edge is scared of them. He went behind his plant in the back of the tank and hid. lol

How can you not love bettas?

The blue girl is fine. She actually seems to be concerned about the red one. She will swim up next to her and watch her for a minute. When the red one swims around a little, the blue one will swim next to her. There is no aggression at all, it's like she's worried about her friend.

That's so sweet.
Hopefully the red one just needs some time to adjust into her new home.
Is she still nosediving?

Not like she was this morning. She seems to be moving around a little more now, and is staying up toward the top for longer periods of time before she goes down. I'd really like to get her where I can see her better and out of this frosted tupperware, because her color around the head looks kind of gray. I brought in a kritter keeper to take them home with because I didn't know what Cindy was going to bring them in, but I hate to stress them by putting them in the kritter keeper and then taking them home to put them in the quarantine tank, they have had quite a bit of josling around already and will have more on the way home, without adding all those container changes.

Hey gray face should go away once she gets into her new home. That's from stress.
I can't wait to hear how she does once she gets home.
