Title: Loach galore!
Description: Been a long time

Its been a long time since i've kept anything "community" and i inherited a old crooked spined striata loach, normally i would euthanase a fish like this but it was so active i thought what the hay, lets give him a chance.

pretty soon he was all over the tank, more so than my big red and yellow fin botias who just hide away. Figuring loaches were shoalers i go and pick up 6 young striatas, and five polka dot loach caught my eye, what gorgeous little fish they are! But before i made it to the counter i find myself staring at teh clown loaches so seven of these critters were added to my purchase as well.

I'm now sazt at my tank, watching how very different each species of loach is behaving! the striatas move around in a close knot shoal, the clowns move in twos or threes and the polka dots stay in eye sight of each other but dont stay so close, and of course the bigger yellow and red fins are very independant. Its so nice to see such a variety of these little fellas weaving in and out of the plants :D

I guess the question is will they eventually become a problem with each other in these numbers, theres lots of hidey holes and the only other bottom dweller is a grumpy L018 pleco
