Description: and why?

I go for fluidized bed filters, ever since i have had them my water is much more clear and my fish have been healthy. Im also not the only to notice there fish JUMPED in size...
What do you prefer?

I run mostly internal filters and canisters. I would like to run HOB's also but they are a bit too expensive around here in my opinion. I also run air powered filters on a few small tanks I have (sponges and boxes).

i run ac and emperor power filters, fluval and rena filstar cannister filters, and also just did a diy wet/dry sump filter.

Most of my tanks are reefready, so I use sumps with wet/dry towers. On my smaller tanks I use ac110's and ac70's.

Being a Saltwater Reef Tank Junkie...I make extensive use of Sumps/refugiums on tanks over 50 gallons and generally stick to Aqua-Clear HOB filters in appropriate sizes for the tank in smaller tanks

I do like refugiums but know i'm starting to like natural set ups with tons of live rock and protein skimmers. but thats just me :joint:

I have a couple canister filters, a couple HOB's, powers heads with sponges and currently working on a wet and dry fed by powerhead with gravity return to tank (hope it works) :hmm:

I use a bit of everything really. I have eheims on some as well as HOB's. I have a system of tanks joined together that overflow over the top into a common sump and I also use custom home made internal filters that run off air.
This one is in a 5*3*2 tank and has a pair of them with about 80 liters of media with either side pumping about 2-3000 liters an hour. Definately my most overfiltered tank :)

The brown is the sediment off the aquaclay as I'd just filled the tank. It now houses my christyi, C caeruleus and oxyrynchus
I'm currently in the process of building an 8*3*2.5 and have decided to use a 6*2 sump/trickle for the purposes of keeping all my plumbing out of site as it will be my display tank. I can pop my heaters etc all out of site.

I'm envious every time I see that CM. I want one to

I use HOB filters because they are cheap and fairly powerful, if we had a lot of money laying around I'd have a huge canister filter for every tank

In my fish keeping experience I have used canisters, hobs, internals and power head quick filters.
My favorite so far are cannisters for thier ability to handle bioload.
When I feel the need to control detris I have found that a high powered powerhead with quick filter seems to be the best choice.
