What types of pleco will stay small enough to live in a 55gal.
I am going to be setting up my tank in the next couple of months and am trying to decide what to put in it. I would like to have 1 or 2 plecos but don't know which kind to get.
As you give me suggestions remember that I havn't decided what other fish will be in there and give me ideas as to which other fish the pleco you suggest will be compatible with.

the Ancistrus sp. of pleco are fancy plecos, and the grow to about 15cm or so.

as photorah said bristlenose cats, you could do a shoal of ottocinclus, rubbernose plecos are good, so are bulldogs, i love clown plecos and my all time fave for a gorgeous 4 inch pleco hypancisterus angelicus

If you are asking about catfish in general, hoplos are quite cool. I have never kept them myself, but they are an interesting looking fish.
