I am hopefully going to get a one male blue and a bunch of females, so will hopefully breed... But I'm not going to put much work into it. :P They'll be in a community tank, so...

Awsome.

But it could get ugly if your germans breed in your conunity.

My pair killed 4 neon tetras.

How big is your tank, Jimbo?

Mine's a five footer and will be densely planted - so escape might be easier than in a small tank with few 'nooks and crannies'.

My pair is in my 10gal.

I was going to mention that if its a bigger tank with more hiding spots the rams will have better selection on where to spawn and the other fish will be able to get away and hide if they are being attacked.

Try flower pots for her to lay her eggs in. The female really likes it. You can lay them in the back where there not seen as much.

well the fish don't really care what it looks like! as long as they have a place to hide.
