Description: mwahahahaha!

Now Dwarfs, as you might remember, you once showed me a purple spotted gudgeon, which immediately fell in love with, right?

And you might also remember that, try as i might, i could not find it here?

Well, i finally found it :D . It took me long enough, but i finally got it, mwahahahaha. The shop owner didn't know what it was, so i managed to get it for a pretty low price, only RM5, which is about... 2 aussie dollars, lol. Yeah!! what a steal! So, tell me a little more about it. I know most of the basics, but if you know any cool specific details about it, i'd love to hear it :D

Nice find jay

What can I tell you... They are very hardy, and heal very quickly from wounds. Don't mix them with cichlids, or smaller PSGs. The bigger they get, the clumsier, my full grown M. clivicola misses his food often. They can be jumpers, so cover the tank. You can also train them to jump for food once they become settled in. If you have a male, he will form a lump in his stomach when he is ready to breed, mine also has a nuchal forehead hump :)

Try to get a pic so we can figure out what species of mogurnda it is :D

Hehe, thanks limegirl.

Thanks for the heads up dwarfs. If i had to guess, i think its the mogurnda mogurnda species. What should i feed it? is live food a must?

And also, im curious. Why no cichlids?

My first gudgeon jumped out of its tank because it was beat up by my severum (Big mo, the Mogurnda mogurnda) And my current "Big" Mo has had his upper lip ripped of by a jewel cichlid, been chased by a severum, beaten by an Uaru, and torn up by rainbow cichlids half his size  It doesn't work, trust me :P I give my Mogurndas freeze dried krill as a staple, with frozen foods, crickets, worms, and other similar sized invertebrates as secondary foods :) Your mogurnda may not eat yet because it is new, but they are pigs once settled :)

Alright, cool. So no worries if it doesnt eat in the first few days then?

What about more peaceful cichlids though? Should be fine with them?

Supposedly Uaru are one of the most peaceful cichlids around, but besides them i think keyholes would be the right way to go, they are very peaceful and not too small :)
