Title: whats this???

on my driftwood in my 40 gallon i see some weird clear white stuff that is about a 1/4" thick. i cleaned it before i put it in there so it was not on it before i got it. i was woundering what it was if any one knows. thank you.

Whoa...I never heard of that before. I would take it out to play it safe. Sounds like a razy case of algea...or something is leaking out of it.

I agree, take it out before it screws up the tank, then research it before you put it back. It could be sap or it could be deadly.

OMG!! My g/f's cousin has the same thing in there tank! But it isnt doing anything to thefish so far and its been about a month, let us know if you find out what it is!

sounds like sum sort of algae, what texture is it? is it firm or squishy?

all most not there. so squishy. it feels like paper that has been in the water for about 2 years, sept it dosnt break. i took it out and boiled it for about 45 minuets it is not there any more but i didnt put it back in the aquarium... :sick:
