wow dude that looks friggin fantastic! those corals are inspiring me to get into marine again.... what do you do to keep them growing besides the lighting?

Thanks punky! Some different corals require feeidng once or twice a week with some SW fish flesh. Im using prawn at the moment.

awesome, do you test the water all the time or add trace elements or anthing like that?

I test once a week and keep a small log. I do add trace elements. Mainly Calcium for my hard corals, and magnesium for my mushrooms. :)

I never posted t his but is that really 20 gallons? I have a 20g tank but it looks nothing like the size of that.

Well, things kinda went down hill for a while there. The tank is not photogenic at the moment because I re-aquasdcaped and things are taking a while to adjust.

I wanted to "Shake" my liverock, because it was absolutely teaming with dirt and detritus. It worked, and i removed close to 4 kilos (OMG) of dirt, rotting food, and poop. I also took the opportunity to kill a mantis that was keeping the family awake 'clicking' as they do. He died, as I placed the suspected LR in hot water, and fried him. In the process, certain creatures were un-avoidably lost. Crabs, worms, and several small molluscs. :(

My water stats after doing this went crazy. Nitrates hit 80ppm, and I reduced them to 40 with a water change, but just had to let the biological life settle after my destructive episode.

Im bummed. Corals went in, my plate died, and some of my Cladiellia just went...purple! It may sound normal, as its coloured purple, but I litterally blew the purple ff them with my turkey baster. Im waiting for them to come back, as I wanna frag and trade them.

Things are slowly coming back again though, and I still have alot of coral which are looking awsome again, just gotta wait for the Live rock to again settle and look cool.

Coral placement is also being a pain, as I have found away to boost flow through my powerhead.

Ill keep you uopdated, and when it looks good, ill post pics.
