Title: How fast do Clown loaches grow?
dtroup2 - January 29, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)
I need to know how long it takes a clown loach to reach maximum size. I want to put 3 in my 55gal ( with 20gal sump) and am wondering if I will have months or years to convince hubby that I need a bigger tank. I am hoping to get little guys 1-2 inches each.

I've just put 3 in my 5ft tank (305 litres - 80 gallons?) and was wondering the same thing!

I have one that is about a year old and is 3.5 to 4 inches. If that gives you some kind of idea. 55 gal is plenty of room with your sump.

They tend to grow very slowly. Some say they have a fast growth spurt when younger but I've never seen it myself.

Thanks for the info.
That tells me that I want to let my breeding colonies get established before I start searching for my clowns.
I guess I'll have to make do with Kuhlis for about 6 months.
