Title: Fish Suggestions

Hey. We just lost a group of platies (one left).
We have a 20 gallon freshwater tank. The platies had ick but everybody else seems healthy. Anyway. We have 4 zebra danios and 3 corydoras catfish and are wondering what we should replace the platies with.

We like Harlequin Rasboras, but a website said they wouldn't be compatible with the danios. Is this not true?

Any other suggestions?

Zebra Danios are IME quite peaceful little chaps. Did you have any aggresion problems with them when you had your platies?

I think the Harliquin Rasboras would work. They are boistrous, and can escape from a bit of fin nipping. Your probably looking at a schoal of 8.

I have harlequin rasboras with two danios. The danios do hassle the rasboras, with nipping, but I have 9 rasboras to two danios - so the abuse is shared around. :P The rest of the time the danios actually school with the rasboras. :) So I don't think you'd have a problem having the two species together, seeing it's not a problem for me.

I never saw the danios hassle the platies. But I never ruled out that as a reason for them getting ick.

A school of 8 sounds like quite a lot. That wouldn't be too much for our tank?

Then why not try sparkling gouramis? cute, pretty and no hassle at all! can get 5 in there without any worries at all and they wont hassle anything else, plus their top isze of an inch wouldnt scare anything!

You could go with 6 endlers, if you want fry go with 2 m & 4 f, if you don't want fry go all male, the males are brightly colored and non agressive.

I just don't want anything attacking anything else. I don't want another outbreak of Ick.
