Title: The "nekid" green monster.
glaive - February 17, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
This is the migration of from my computer to my girl friend's. Her birthday gift was an insane little acrylic case and some new hardware to go with some of my old hardware. Check it all out.
My case right before gutting.

Her new case still in plastic.

Her new power supply, nice and clear with two blue led fans.

Power supply installed in case.

Me dealing with wiring after installing th e motherboard processor and ram.

In goes the video card, drives went in just before this.

More cabling nightmares, I love cable ties.

All buttoned up, frontal view with lights off.

All buttoned up, side view with lights off.

Now for the lights at night.
Side shot with the power supply lights only.

Side shot, full lights.

Front shot slightly angled, full lights.

Full frontal with lights.

Wicked picture of me taking pics.

Hey there's nothing like pulling into the driveway and starting the comp up. ;)
Not that it matters, start time is about 15 seconds from cold boot.
cich1 - February 20, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
very nice alex, i bet the gf really appreciated it.
glaive - February 20, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
She felt pretty bad once I got griping about teh case design, but she likes it and that's what matters.
NurthinAziz - February 24, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
Awesome... are you actually running on an AMD Processor? Or is that sticker just there? Anyways I don't need much usb drives even though i have 8 xD... so useless
glaive - February 24, 2006 05:50 AM (GMT)
Yep I am running AMD I have always run the company that gave me the best bang for the buck, which was pretty much intel until this latest run.
Current: AMD athlon 64 x2 3800
Previous: Amd athlon 64 3000
earlier still: Various Celerons due to easy over clocking
I still have a celeron 266 @ 448 running, would like to get some pc133 in it to see if I can hit 533 with it.
I am contemplating running the x2 from 2 ghz up to 2.4 ghz just for the halibut.

Why don’t you try doing one for me :brows:

For an acrylic case for a customer I would more than likely add $250 to the purchase price.
The X2 3800+ is two 3200+ so you can imagine in one single threaded task your fx 53 wins. Your half life 2 frame rate is better than mine, however my HL2 frame rate doesn't suffer when I start encoding a DVD while playing. In something liek Quake 4 (smp aware) this would win.
In the case of this particular X2 It also runs prime stable @2.5G.
That's 250X10, so OCed it is a hair behind the FX60.
Of course come Q3 f this year I may make myself a Conroe.
