Cool! Geos are definitely one of my favorite types of cichlids:) I have a 6" G. surinamensis (His tank has very uneven sand  ) and a 2" G. brasiiliensis. I don't know why but they remind me of puppies :dunno:

Well....I broke a couple of my own rules with these fish...now I have a small issue....

1st, I bought specimens that were not 100% healthy...they had a few spots of ich when I bought them (you can see one spot on the tail of the fish in the top pic)

second...I didnt Isoloate them before throwing them in with the other fish...

They now have a mild case of ich which I'm treating with only temperature and salt, as I have fire eels and cory's in the tank and don't want to use malachite green as it can burn them....so now I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't spead to the eels or the silver dollars...
...although I've always had great succsess treating ich in the past w/out medication...

Bummer on the ich, good luck with the treatment!

nice looking fish seedy. looks like you caught the ich early so you may have a good chance of it not spreading any further, good luck.:)

Well, the ich has cleared up. They really like to chase each other...but so far, they have left the other fish alone.

Glad to hear that you got rid of the ich!
