Well - I don't think there are any of the originals left ... I purposefully didn't do anything special, like take them out, because I wanted to see what would happen.
And what do you know? The inevitable happenned and I caught them in the act!

There was about an hour of glass cleaning by the female, while the male looked on. Then she got down to the business of laying - it took forever!

Eventually I had to go to bed! But this morning -

There don't seem to be as many viable eggs this time ...
But I am going to remove the hang on filter and set up two sponge filters - hopefully that will reduce the casualties.

How are they doing?

They are all hatched out and the sponge filters are going - so now we just wait and see!
