Here are some pics of the fry. ^_^
They're about 1 week out of the cave.

In the guppy tank in the 5ft, waiting to move to the fry tank.

I like the composition of this pic, even though it's out of focus for the most part.

They're eating shrimp pellets. They LOVE them. They never last long.

Ruler along the front shows that they're each about 1cm long from nose to tail tip.

In the fry tank - waiting for release.

They're much easier to count in a picture! I count 48. There are still more in the 5ft.

Poor picture of one of the babies.

I hope you enjoyed. :) Questions welcomed.

Leema, are you in melbourne? and if so do you want to sell some fry to me?

Shelzbells - March 9, 2006 02:50 PM (GMT)
:kewl: Congrats on those fry ......thats awesome

Actaully I would consider the last picture rather excelent especially when on takes into account the small size of the subject. Congrats on the healthy spawn.

Wow! I've missed so many replies to my topics. I must've got out of whack with TFC at some stage. Sorry guys.

Vip, I'm not in Melbourne, but I'll let you know if we plan to go down there anytime soon. ;) A LFS here is willing to buy them off me when they reach 2cm... Now I just need space to get them to grow to this size! (:o A new tank?)

A few days after moving them, I saw my leopard danio swimming with a tail hanging out of her mouth. :bash: So she and he zebra danio friend got moved.
The blue rams were good... Then I got 4 more (girls this time!) and the girls taught the boys how to eat them. So there are only a few left in my 5ft.

Since moving to the fry tank, they've become scared of me. However, that's soon fixed by a bit of food. ;)

WOW congratz mate!!

I hope my planted tank will produce fry like that!

By the way how far north of melbourne are ya?
I'm in the top of vic (central) and i wouldn't mind buying some if your close?

Leema - April 15, 2006 10:00 AM (GMT)
Thanks mate.

Sorry, I'm in Adelaide. A bit far, eh? ;)

Unfortunately, I've lost about half of the number I saved (so I'm down to about 25 fry)... The mysteries of raising fry, eh? :banghead:
However, the ones I've got now are doing well, are bigger than the few that are left in my planted tank, so I'm doing something right. :woo:

Damn thats to bad, i would have loved to raise some in my planted tank.

Ah well, the pet shop it is then....
