Well...It's been about 13 months since the spawn...so, to to give you an idea of calvus growth rates....these fish are just now approaching 1 inch...

Here's a pic of the two biggest fish from the brood that I kept. They lived in a 10 gallon with guppies for their first year (read:"constant supply of guppy fry") I'm currently letting them grow in their own 29 tall...now that they are starting to get big enough to hold their own, I'm considering adding something else to the tank...if nothing else, a young BN to "tidy up" after them....

Gorgeous fish mate. U've done well. They do grow soo slow hey. My little guy is 18months old & barely 2". Glad they're still going well. U could put in some Multi's who'll pump out eyeballs for them to snack on. I demarcate with rock a corner of the tank where the shells are so that the Calvus have a part of the tank free of harrasment. But my little guy thrived in there... course guess depends how many Calvus fry we're talking about?

Painful as it may be you've got a great lookin fish there, and you've breed it yourself! i hope i can do that someday in the future!
