Title: Breeding Plants

Hristaky - March 13, 2006 03:32 PM (GMT)
Hello everyone
I spent a few more dollars on plants the otherday

i got a "hygrophila corymbosa"
a "Echinodorus 'rose'"
and a "Limnophila sessiliflora"

i know that the hygrophila is multiplied by tacking cuttings (which I plan to do as soon as it grows a bit more)
but I have no idea for the others
anyone had them
thanks

Echinodorus 'Rose' grows to a height of 25-40cm and a width of 15-25cm. This beautiful plant is a hybrid between Echinodorus horemanii "Rot" and Echinodorus horizontalis. It was first produced in 1986 by H. Barth in Dessau. New underwater leaves are a beautiful pink and initially the leaves have red-brown spots. A nutritious bottom promotes growth but otherwise Echinodorus 'Rose' is undemanding and thus an excellent plant for beginners.

just a little information if you did not have any on it but with my Echinodorus 'oriental' it produces a "pole" from the base of the plant and it will grow slowly and then once it gets a little bigger (about 5 inches) it will produdce a small flower ( i guess it is a flower any way ) and then a plant will grow from that "flower" it can have a few more flowers per "stock" ( mine only had 3 flowers on that one stock )

hope that helpted if you need some more information on that plant i will give more informatiopn if i can dig it up LOL
