I need a new pump for my under tank sump filter. I want it too be as quiet as possible. Any idea as to which model/makes are the quietest!? Also do you have any tips on ways to futher reduce the noise of the sump/filter when running!!!

Where is the majority of the noise coming from liamoi? Alot of excess noise comes from the water entering your sump. I cant help you with your first question thoug, sorry. Someone else should though.

I had a HQB or something pump, for ponds... It was LOUD. I switched to an Ehiem and haven't looked back. A bit more expernsive, but definitely worth it for the peace and quiet.

I also put carpet all around the sump to muffle the noise and ease it vibrating against the sides.

Fluval canisters are very very very quiet.

HOB filters are very quiet also but if your water level is to low they will make splashing and trickling noises.
