That's cool, even though he's only jumping about 3 feet the momentum gives him awesomn height! And yes, he definatly looks like a PIT!

He loves it! Great to see a dog loving a game. There's actually contests for dogs to do that - hang off a rope and they have to work it (keep shaking their body). Pretty cool. :D

Yes that pitbull can jump high in his pursuit of wanting to attack and kill for his master!

Don't think ive told u guys on TFC yet but i was attacked by 2 pitbulls a few weeks back, i was outside my work having a smoke when 2 pitbulls tied up on a bike rack just went nuts!!!

I had been standing there for a few minutes and they seemed like nice dogs relaxing and sitting down ( should have known not to trust pitbulls ) next thing i knew they both went completely crazy pulling themselves of their leads and really going at me. I was screaming at them and kicking them but they just kept coming, a guy from work came over to help and they turned on him.

I hadn't even realised but my shirt was all ripped and my hands were pissin out with blood, my adrenaline was cranking and i was trying to help my work mate, who was screaming for help as the dogs almost had him down.

Another guy from work came running over and started trying to pull them off, we both ended up yanking one of the bikes of the rack and bashing the crap out of the dogs with it.

I guess this only lasted about 1 minute but it really shook the 3 of us up.

Ive had dogs all my life and been attacked a few dogs but never like this, i could not give a damn if they eradicated the pitbull breed! What if had been a child or an old person by themselves, they are an aggressive dog by nature and i have no time for excuses such as the owner is the one to blame for that behaviour.

sorry for such a long post but the topic just reminded me of that incidence.

Wolly, not all pits are that way. I've known several pits that wouldn't hurt a fly. My best friend had one when my kids were little, like 2 & 3, they crawled all over him, pulled his tail, bit his ears, everything a little kid would do to a dog, and this pit was trained to attack and kill on command.
No two dogs of any breed are the same. My dog is a prime example, he's german shepard chow cross and he is the mellowest, most laid back dog you could wish for, his brother, from the same litter is the meanest, most viscous animal I've ever seen.

" should have known not to trust pitbulls" - :pft:
This kind of attitude drives BSL. Dogs should be treated on an individual basis.

By the sounds of your story, you approached two dogs tied up without the owner present? Sorry that you got bitten, but that's a pretty bloody stupid thing to do towards any dog.

For starters its the third time in about 3 years that that ive been attacked by pitbulls (twice while walking my dogs). Secondly i did not approach them, i was about 10 metres away from where they were tied up having a smoke on my lunch break.

In no way at all had i provoked them in any way whatsoever, i wasnt looking at them i didn't try to pat them and didn't speak to them.

Maybe iam generalizing the breed but personnel experience in my life dictates to me that they are a dangerous breed not safe to be out in public.

I guess if any of you have the pleasure  of fearing for your life when a pitbull decides it wants a chunk of your face to chew on maybe your thoughts and opinions may differ slightly.

But hey i was in the wrong for being stupid in thinking that tied up dogs over 10 metres away in a public place were going to turn into such a threat

Wolly don't get my earlier post wrong, I don't condone anyone taking viscous dogs out in public, especially when they leave them unattended, with the exception of in a closed vehicle, my point was the condeming of an entire breed. I personally don't trust Doberman Pincers because I was bitten by one as a kid and had to have a painful shot and was looking at a few more until the dog was found and the owner proved it had it's shots, but I still take every animal on it's own merits or lack of. I know a couple of people who have very well behaved Dobies and I associate with them as long as their owners are present but don't expect me to go near them of the owner is gone.
You are perfectly right in being pissed at that owner and more than justified in your actions!
You are correct that pitbulls can be very dangerous, especially when not properly trained and aclimated to people. They need both, that's the biggest problem with my dog's brother, he is extreemly well trained but he was never aclimated to anyone but his master and he will not listen to anyone but his master. Pits have very powerful jaws that lock shut and I've seen my buddy use a crowbar to pry his dog's jaws open when they were locked and it took some serious effort.

The only breed I've had a bad experience with is Chihuahuas, when one bit me unprovoked. However, I believe it was an issue with that DOG and not the BREED.

I've never seen a dog fight between a pitty, american staffy, a staffy or a bull terrier - only smaller terriers, malamutes, huskies, etc. However, I don't believe that no bull breeds would bite, nor that all smaller terriers would bite. It is an individual dog thing.

Sorry you've had only bad experience with pitties. I've had only good. You're allowed to 'not trust' pitties yourself, but if you advocate this to other people encourages stigmatisation of pitty owners.

And Dorothy, APBT jaws are no different to any other breds.
