I'm curious about Dragon Goby's... I first saw one last summer at the pet store, and think they look very cool and different, but there sign says they are hard to take care of and don't get along with other fish. But then I looked them up online, and it says that's not true... Does anyone know anythning about these fish?

I'm no expert on them, but some species are brackish, and they eat small particles of food. I'm sure there is someone here that can give you some more info, I just hope they see this :)

I have had one for several months and hes is quite nice. The problem I am having is I just got some puffers to put in with him and they nip the hell out of him. So, I moved him. But, now I need to get him back into brackish conditions. I hear they get alsores (not spelled right) around there gill area.
Mine doesn't bother other fish and is shy. He eats about anything as far as I can tell. Its hard to tell cause he scoops his food up like a scoop shovel. So, I can't tell forsure what all he gets in his mouth. I had a hard time finding info on them also. I am just making sure I keep him in brackish water and feeding a variety of foods, so that he gets plenty to eat. He does come out and go up and down the glass at times. Thats about all I can think of for now... I'll let you know if I discover anything else about him.

Now the dragon goby is quite correctly stated as being a brackish fish.
Additional info to this thread is: they are HARMLESS, they look mean but those teeth are actually used to filter food from the water current, yes they are filter feeders and suck food out of the water rather than actively hunting for it!
This makes them difficult to care for, brineshrimp and plankton used for feeding marines is a good start, aslo dropping bloodworm into a current that leads to the goby is another way to "trick" him into feeding!
They have never breen bred in captivity as far as i know.
If the head of the goby is massive compared to the body, sort of like a lollipop, DONT buy this fish, it is very likely starving and will be difficult to bring around to a healthy condition. Individuals that start off quite wide and taper down to a point are very helathy and are the best buy to make.
Dragon gobies have CRAP eyesight and dont respond well to visible threats, they cant recognise an oncoming predator too well and rely on distubances in water flow (no this dosent make them a jedi) and remaining still on rocks the blue colouring helps them to blend into the scenery, so do not keep them with semi aggresive fish such as puffers, loach or other extremely territorial gobies and crabs large enough to take chunks out of them! hope this helps
