Awesome pick ups! Although I have to admit I'd never heard of P. socolofi being called a "pindani" before...where does that nickname come from? If it's an idiom or expression, then I'm afraid most of our United States members missed it...

http://malawicichlids.com/mw09007o.htmnot the most common term but over here most LFS call them "blue pindani" :) i'm not sure where the nick comes from but it seems to be rather old expression for them. I must admit i really like it, its not as psychotic as my other malawi's, it tends to be mellow and the juvie blue dolphin uses that to get a little more cover hiding with it. :)

Nice looking fish, the first seems to have a little attitude. Always, I find, a plus.

  Oh that's easy! Just do what I do and try to "get them all"!!! That's a job that will keep you and your great grandkids busy! Lotsa Cichlids from allmost every corner of the world (except most of Asia and the northern half of North America...)
Right now, I'm trying to get a working group of one of the three species found in southern India/Sri Lanka....I may end up actually going on a collecting trip to India in the next few years as I have family there....
If I do make it, look for me to introduce a few new Killiefish strains to the hobby as well as try to get one of the few breeding groups of the "Chromine" Cichlids that are endemic there....
