Title: my vacation over the weekend.

FBG - May 15, 2006 04:42 AM (GMT)
i just got back from a vacation, my mom dad and I went up to the white mountains (showlow, Pinetop, and lakeside) AZ, I had to drag them to the streams, and, i had to collect some of the plants ( i don't know how illegel that is.....so if it is. could you tell me before i post pictures??  ) but, i didn't collect many plants, only about 5 or so plants, i got some kind of moss, it looks like crystal wort....but the only pictures i can find of it are ones with Oxygen (pearling) all over, so i can't identify it correctly, and i found a bunch of Glossostigma elatinoides i beleive it is called, but i am not for sure, and i also think i found a sword plant, there were SO many of these every where, i tried to get a small plant, but the one i got, was the smallest i could find. and, OMG I saw a ton of duck weed forming in pools from natural springs, it was really cool. (i only got a few little "packs" of it.) but, all in all, there were a ton of plants every where, but, the sad thing was, i found a bunch of crawdad in the still ponds, and i only found one fish, but it was 5". so, we walked about 10 miles, it was really fun, LOL, and my moms dog was having a lot of fun in the water, LOL. (or, LOL and we saw some skinny dipping, that was a horrific time in my life, seeing as it was an old lady (as in 60-70+ years old) and it will be with me for the rest of my life sadly....LOL

and today we went to another stream, it was OK, all crawdad, absolutly no fish. so that was sad.....and no plants at all, so i didn't have a good time at this stream.

i wanted to go fishing but my dad said we didn't have enough time.

but all in all, i had a great time, and i have a few more plants!! LOL if you want pictures, just ask! LOL

Sounds good, if youa re really worried about the plants email arizona wildlife, or at least check out thier site. If memory serves me correctly you arein the okay unless you reintroduce to the wild, I don't think any of those are protected.
