Title: Not sure if Bala is eating
Description: I need suggestions

dtroup2 - June 12, 2006 08:25 AM (GMT)
I havn't seen my hubby's Bala shark eat yet.
I offer flake food, freeze dried blood worms and I throw in algae tabs for the CAE and Pictus. I have even tried Betta pelets, no intrest.
The worms are floating around the top edges of the tank, and the flakes are resting on the driftwood. :pft:
The only thing I can think of that it might have eaten was one of the ghost shrimp that I put in there, but I have seen 1 of the 2 that I put in there, so the other may be hiding. :dunno:

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Should I try giving him earthworms?

It should quite happily take what you have offered so far. The only thing mine get other than flake and pellets is some chopped prawns every now and then. It may just be settling in still and not feeling tatally at ease yet.

I did about a 25% water change last night and he quit hiding behind the driftwood and rocks, and he started eating flakes and the freeze dried bloodworms. jay :woo:
I don't know if it was that I scared him with the gravel vac or if he wanted cleaner water or if it was the change in temp, I raised the temp a couple of degrees with the water change.
