Jags are not to finicky when it comes to food. They will eat pretty much what ever you feed them. Avoid using feeders such as goldfish and guppies. Alot of these fish come sick and with disease. They will inevitably create problems for your fish.
These are some the foods I use to feed my juvinile and adult Ca cichlids. Kens soft & moist with krill, New Life Spectrum large fish formula pellets, HBH Soft & Moist spirulina pellets, krill, earthworms, mealworms, romaine lettece.
