Picked this guy up today. This is commonly called a Dorado, or Trout Characin, and scientifically known as Salminus maxillosus. It is quite easy to see where the Trout and Salmon aspects of its name come from. It is a predatory fish from South America and can grow to 24" in an aquarium, although more commonly to around 18". It is 8"-9" at the moment
