not in a 75....try tetras.

are you saying to use tetras as dithers?

if so i disagree, i think they would just end up as feeders.

Texas can be hard to use dithers/targets with. I tryed Aust. rainbows with mine once which was a recommended species and they lasted about 2 hours (6 of them).

Is the texas the only fish in the tank? If it is, you won't need dithers.

If you are looking for dithers because the texas is beating on the other fish, then Silver Dollars are your best bet :)

Don't you guys think that silver dollars would be too much fish for a 75 plus the other fish??? Your probably right about the tetras, but you never know.

he is the only fish in there (about two inches)! just wanted a bit more movement and to get him to come out from hiding a bit more, like he did before he ate all the neons he was in there with!

I agree re the silver dollars ending up too big IMO, bought small they'd do the job for while. I have used Giant Danio's to great success as dither/fillers (note I said fillers - as in tank fillers - not as in stomach feeders) because of their speed & constant movement... not so good with a jag but cos he nailed them as they dozed in the evenings... but should keep the Texas busy for alot longer than the tetras.

I would have suggested Giant danios, but IME they have a tendancy to jump from the tank fairly often :P I bought six a while ago, and so far 2 have jumped and died, and I have found others flopping on my carpet numerous times

Luckily, they are cheap :)
