Title: dragon fish almost dead

fishplay - June 28, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
I moved my dragon fish yesterday cause my new puffers were eating him. Nipping all his fins off. So, I put him in a much calmer tank. Then last night I went down to check on him and couldn't find him. Well, then I saw him. He was under the tank. I thought great, hes dead. But, when I reached to get him out he moved. So, I grabbed him and put him back in the tank. Then I set up a hospital tank for him with meds. I haven't checked on him today- afraid to. He didn't look well. I don't think he will make it. But, I had to try. Its all my fault, for getting the puffers. I read on at least two diffrent websites that they would make good tank mates. I guess I learned the hard way. :sook:

OK, update....... HELP!!!

I didn't mention in the top post that the tank I moved my fish to has a peacock eel in it.

I just went down after my last post to check on the dragon fish and my pleco was on the floor. He's alive and not looking well also.

What the flip......IS THE EEL DOING THIS!!!!!!

I have had my pleco for five years...... aggggghhhhhhhhhggghhhhh!!!!!!

Anyone know why this is going on...please help....before I loose the rest of the fish in this tank....

I have one african and two silver dollars left in there right now.... plus the stupid eel...

What does this eel do... scare them out of the tank or what. And it looks like he has taken the eyes off of both fish. Unless thats from being out of water for so long.

This is like some horror fish show...

new update. After some research I found a new name for these eels. I guess they are called rope fish... That still don't explain the fish jumping out of the tank. But, at least I am finding out more info on them...

oh that exsplains it i was gonna ask because peacock eels are very docile i have a had 3 and currently have a small one.but i have had a rope fish to and they can be aggresive depending on how big it is.how big is it?

The two I had died. I think lack of eating. I was giving them beefheart, bloodworm, etc. They just didn't want any of that, I guess.

After losing two of my other fish to these, I doubt if I will ever get anymore rope fish.
