Ok,that's what it looks like.Currently it's about a quarter inch in diameter.
My son was given this creature by a friend in school. It came in a bag of Aquarium water,is somewhat active and still alive after twenty-four hours later.
I have it in a ten gallon tank with some cory's so it is safe from predation. Now what the hell is it and how do I keep it alive since my son(age 5) is completly fascinated by it.

It looks like it could be an apple snail or a mystery snail, it will help clean up any left over fish food, my mystery snails really like shrimp pellets and algae tabs.

 don't panic, it might not be the same one and if it is it will take a while to reach that large a size, I think.

lol, you think. as do i, it should take a while for it to reach that size, or, lets hope anyways :D it should be fine man. as long as you don't have others in the aquarium so they can reproduce, it should be fine.

Well, hav'nt seen the little guy since yesterday.Of course he is the same size and color as the gravel in the tank. :banghead: Tomorrow I have to do my water change, and I use a gravel-vac.I better find it soon or hope he survives.

Don't worry if you don't see him every day, "he is a little guy in a big pond" and if you have any plants, wood, or ornimentation in the tank it will check out every nook and crannie, including the space behind your filter's intake tube, that's where I found my daughters once, lol.
